Turismo La Serena is the application developed by the "La Serena" to offer the tourist information of this Badajoz region (Extremadura, Spain).
La Serena is a historical region located northeast of Extremadura traditionally linked to the military order of Alcantara and transhumance, where it was known as Real Dehesa de la Serena. It has been a populated territory from Paleolithic to the present day, as the numerous coats of cave paintings, dolmens and megalithic monuments, orientalizing, tarteous, Romans, Visigoth, Arab and Castilian paintings that repopulated the area after the reconquests. Everyone has left their traces in monuments and buildings that we can visit today.
The Serena is in turn one of the best preserved ecosystems in Europe, with a Esteparic space where you can see 10 of the 3 species of nesting birds included in the red list of the vertebrates of Spain.
Its rich and varied gastronomy based on quality products such as Virgen Oliva Oliva Monterrubio and the internationally known cheese of La Serena have the designation of origin, not forgetting other products classified as such as wines, sausages and derivatives of the Iberian pig, lamb and nougat.
